Underground Find 01 - Lineage ov the Lyricist

A new series of Blog posts... because why not??

To be honest, the HRS blog has been the least prioritized tool in the toolbox since inception... mainly because I'm not an impassioned writer (Side note, if you are or know an impassioned writer that wants to write blog posts about underground hiphop, hit me up!!). BUT, I do like to find and share some dope underground hiphop from time to time.. and how easy when it shows up in your inbox automatically..

So today, I'm gonna kick off this new series of posts with the first "Underground Find" submitted by Kensho Kuma - Lineage ov the Lyricist (mixed by Kevvy Kev)

I didn't enjoy every song on the tape, but the songs I did enjoy were dope enough to get me to write this blog post.. and that's already saying something for reasons stated earlier in post..

For real though, Dope rhyme schemes and flows.. give it a go

"Lineage ov the Lyricist" is an hour of unadulterated lyricism mixed by veteran DJ Kevvy Kev. The project took approximately 3 years to complete and covers a wide array of topics ranging from the current opioid epidemic to police brutality, and from public education to toxic relationships.

Kensho Kuma is a true practitioner of MCing and he is doing his part to carry on tradition.

What up everyone, Last week was a big week.. the feature with Lord Goat (from Non Phixion / fka Goretex) finally dropped! As a non-fan of widely accessible common place entertainment, I cannot tell you how important it was to me that the first next tier feature I released a collab track with was a true anti-hero. When it comes to spitting in the face of the dumbed down monotony regularly embraced by pop culture as "so talented", there are not many that bring it as ill as Lord Goat..
